Officers of the Onna divisional police headquarters have arrested a man after hacking a commercial motorcycle rider (Okada man) with a machete and making away with his motorcycle and phone.
The suspect identified simply as Inyang, was arrested at the Onna area of the state.
A Facebook User, Donny Ufot, who shared the shocking story as well as the disturbing photo of the victim's injuries on his wall, revealed that Inyang was arrested after he almost killed the okada rider who picked him up at Onna head-bridge, taking him to his house at Ikot ebekpo village in Onna.
The report reveals that the suspect hired the victim to take him home so he could change his clothes and then take him back to the location where he was picked up.
Quoting a police officer at the station, Ufot wrote:
“After taking him to the house to change, on their way going back, the passenger directed the cyclist to take a turn into the newly commissioned Okat road in Onna for him to pick a gallon of diesel he claimed to have dropped somewhere along the road.
“And on getting there the suspect now pulled out a machete and started cutting the bike man from the head and dumped him inside the nearby bush.”
The victim reportedly bled from 8:20pm when the shocking incident took place, until the following morning when he was discovered.
Confirming the arrest, the police officer disclosed that the victim has been taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.
