Dogara’s aide denies sharing $20,000 on Budget Padding Scandal

Cyril Maduabum, the Deputy Chief of staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has denied giving $20,000 to members of the appropriation committee.

Abdulmumin Jibrin had earlier alleged that Dogara gave $20,000 to the Reps to issue a false statement against him.
Maduabum  said  “My attention has been drawn to a Statement issued by the disgraced and sacked former Chairman of Appropriation Committee, Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, wherein he falsely, recklessly and maliciously claimed that I distributed $20,000 to each member of the Committee to address the media where they stated their grouse against him.”
“I wish to state that I did not at any time meet or hand over any money of any sort to any member of the House Appropriations Committee.”
Jibrin’s statement was in reaction to a press conference held by members of the House appropriation  committee, led by Chris Azubuogu.
Azubogo said Jibrin disappeared with the 2016 budget, adding that former appropriation committee chairman worked on the budget with a consultant from an undisclosed location for three weeks.
