Dr Eni Alobo, a lecturer and Head of Department in the Faculty of Law of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has taken to Facebook to threaten an unnamed colleague for allegedly harassing a 16-year-old student.
According to Dr Alobo, the alleged abuser, a lecturer well past his fifties, has been making sexual demands from a 16-year-old Diploma student. And for refusing his advances, the alleged abuser refused to release the student’s file, denying her opportunity to graduate.
“You are insisting she must travel with you or see you outside the school. For what?” Dr Alobo asked. “If by the end of next week her file is not released, you will regret.”
See Dr Alobo’s note:
This comes weeks after a female student provided video proof of Dr. Wale Ojoniyi, a lecturer at the Department of Languages and Linguistics, demanding sex from her. Also, a disciplinary committee of the Delta State University (Delsu) has recommended the sack of 5 of its lecturers after investigations found them guilty of various offences, including sexual harassment of female students and financial extortion for marks.
