Military Confirms the Rescue of One Chibok Girls

The Nigerian military has confirmed the rescue of one of the missing Chibok girls, which is the first to be found since their capture in 2014.
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, in a short statement on Wednesday, claimed that the girl, named Falmata Mbalala, was one of the hostages rescued recently by the Nigerian troops near Damboa in Borno State.

“This is to confirm that one of the abducted chibok school girls, Falmata Mbalala, was among the rescued persons by our troops at Baale near Damboa,” Usman stated.
Earlier, several reports had claimed that one of 276 girls of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by the Boko Haram terrorists during their Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) in April 2014, named Amina Ali Nkek was found by a vigilante group on Tuesday in the Sambisa Forest, close to the border with Cameroon.
The reports further claimed that the girl was identified by the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), a vigilante group set up to help fight Boko Haram.
According to sources, Falmata who was found with a baby came from the town of Mbalala, south of Chibok, from where 25 of the kidnapped girls came.
