Society demands that a woman should remain upright and pure. It almost demands that while she deeply desires to engage sexually, she should hold it together for her man only, or to the more religious kind, that she should hold it together for her husband.
In a patriarchal society like the one most of us exist in, she’s expected to stand out amongst her fellow women as being “untouched” and without “stain”.
Well, truth is, women like sex. They enjoy it! They would engage in it more often than they do, for as long as they will not face the wrath of the society’s victimization after it.
Yes women connect emotionally, and more often than not they’d rather have a monogamous partnership with a man/or woman with whom they can connect and indulge with sexually. Still that said, they too do enjoy an adventurous one night stand, or office hook-up that does not necessarily have to be relived.
The society is very vocal about not letting anyone “put us down”. Very vocal about “YOLO” (You Only Live Once). Very vocal about growing wings and standing by what you want to do, about being happy and content, and not caring about what others will say about you.
But why is it that when a woman decides to exercise this sense of freedom she gets victimized? Why is it that after the society learns of her escapades, she’s termed as part and parcel of the moral decay?

Sex, in all its glory, is a beautiful experience, and with it indeed comes a fair share of consequences. However, among these consequences shouldn’t be societal victimization.
It is utterly ridiculous how a man can view a woman as a lesser being; as filth, after sleeping with her. Forgetting that it is his hands that rubbed her, his arms that touched her, and part of him that went in her.
It is even more absurd when a woman begins to point fingers at another woman for the sexual choices she has made, as though, if she herself hadn’t bowed to the societal expectations, wouldn’t have killed to experience the same pleasures.
This woman now has to term her desires as “guilty pleasures”, maybe even keep them as guarded secrets because the society expects this from her.
Some have, a small number has, attained freedom from society’s moral colonization against women, but the larger majority is still aching to free.
