It could be recalled that, the two families, Olugbense and Anilelerin have had similar tussle in the past concerning the stool.
When Alhaji Gbadamosi Mufutau Esuwoye (II) was installed in 2010, Alhaji Saka Adeyemo, Alhaji Abdulrauf Adegboyega Keji and Prince Saka Keji as representatives of the Olugbense family had filed a suit challenging Oba Mufutau's installation at the Ilorin High Court.
The Olugbenses had stood firm on the rotational policy of the Kwara state.
The High Court at Ilorin however ruled in favour of the Anilelerin asking Oba Esuwoye to remain on the throne by rejecting the exhibit in evidence which is the original copy of the Kwara state government press statement of 1969 which recognises that the chieftaincy title in Offa be rotated between two ruling Houses which are Anilelerin and Olugbense.
Justice S.N Akanbi had on 19th July, 2012, validated the appointment of Oba Mufutau.
The Olugbenses however appealed this judgement at the Court of Appeal headed by Justice Hussein Mukhtar on 9th July 2013 where he set aside the verdict of the lower court and directed the immediate installation of the claimant. Justice Hussein also restrained Oba Gbadamosi from parading himself as the traditional ruler of the community.
After a long session at the supreme court at Abuja, today, 1st July 2016. The inccubent Oba Mufutau will finally retain the throne as presided by Justice Walter Onnohhen.
