Court Grants Bishop Obinim Bail, Flogged Teenagers Thanks Him



Controversial Ghanaian pastor, Bishop Obinim has been granted bail in his GH¢11.6 million fraud allegation case.
According to Ghana Web, Obinim’s lawyer confirmed that the embattled founder of the International God’s Way Church was granted bail with two sureties today, although he didn’t give details on the bail bond. However  Obinim, who was arrested for fraud on Tuesday, was absent from court.
In case you missed the story, Obinim was taken into the Tema police custody on Tuesday after he was accused of defrauding a businessman identified as Bismark Kusi. He was later transferred to Accra Police headquarters for questioning after his followers stormed the police station and demanded his release.
Meanwhile, the teenagers involved in Obinim’s flogging controversy have finally spoken up on the incident. 
In an interview with OBTV, 16-year-old Eliasu Zakari and 14-year-old Justina Nhyiraba Gyasiwaa stated that they were remorseful for engaging in premarital sex while also expressing their gratitude to Obinim for punishing them.
We admit that what we did was wrong and our father Obinim was right in disciplining us in church” Justina stated.
Justina and Eliasu also stated that they were happy he corrected them by flogging them. “We will not engage in such acts again
They both also implored those criticizing Bishop Obinim to refrain from doing so
