At every wedding ceremony, there is the Bride, the Groom and then the Chief Bridesmaid and the Best man.
The role of the best man is to be beside the groom throughout all the wedding event[s] that make up the wedding ceremony.
For anyone who has been chosen to take this responsibility, we present seven rules that must not be ignored.
Don’t be late
Your friend or whoever chose you as best man wants someone beside him from start to finish. Please be available as quick as possible.
The standard is to be with the groom long before the beginning of the wedding event[s.] You can discuss when to arrive with the groom if you are not sure.
Protect the groom
It is your responsibility to protect the groom from himself if need be. He might be tempted to take more than a few shots of alchohol, or make some silly moves, don’t let him do any of that.
Don’t drink too much
No one needs a drunk best man at their wedding. So go easy on the drinks. Remember that you are on duty at the wedding.
Don’t mess up your speech
You should know that you might be asked to give a speech, so take a time to prepare one. If the time gets presented to you, you should not start stuttering or saying some incoherent.
Be careful with the bridesmaids
Yeah, you will be meeting with all the fine babes, and it’s one of the best ways to cop all the good-looking ones. But you must be careful or else, you may get yourself tagged creepy.
Remain well-dressed all day
You will most likely appear in all the wedding pictures [not all, really, but you get the picture, right?]
So try to appear as cool as possible throughout. No one wants to see a unkempt groomsman in photos, please.
Be available throughout
Be sure to have the groom's back on his wedding day and try not to leave his side. It is not a good thing to vanish on the groom.
