Olajumoke Orisaguna
Nollywood movie producer and director, Charles Novia, has claimed his prediction about the bread-seller-turned-model, Olajumoke Orisaguna, being used and dumped by people who were supposedly helping to ease her into fame has come to pass.
The social critic and movie maker in a post on his Facebook page said the reality was Olajumoke was “used” by some persons for their own selfish interests.
He wrote: “We don’t hear any more about the bread-seller-turned-model, Olajumoke Orisaguna. I wrote at the beginning of the media frenzy over her that she was just the flavor of the moment for a public looking for sweet distraction from realities in the polity and that she would be discarded by that same public and media once the curiosities wane. It’s happening now.”
A quick investigation by NAIJ.com showed Olajumoke’s Instagram page, which was created and managed by the modelling agency she was once signed to, Few Models, was last updated 21 weeks ago. The page also now listed Beth Model Africa as Olajumoke’s agency.
Olajumoke’s rise to fleeting fame began when she happened to walk by during a photo shoot session for British-Nigerian rapper, Tinie Tempah earlier this year. Celebrity photographer, Ty Bello, took a picture of the bread seller walking beside Tinie. Later, going over the pictures Bello was entranced by Jumoke’s natural grace and beauty, and commenced a search for her.
Olajumoke, apart from getting a modelling contract, from her lucky strike, also was given accommodation and a scholarship to a finishing and etiquette school by Sujimotors among other gifts and contracts from other well-wishers.
At the time, Novia, and some other well-meaning Nigerians had wondered what would happen after her fame had reached tits peak and dropped, a question her then handlers failed to successfully answer.
