Army Kills 4, Arrests 3 in Raid Against Cattle Rustlers, Kidnappers


The Nigerian Army on Wednesday carried out raids on cattle rustlers and kidnappers in Zamfara and Kaduna States respectively.
In Zamfara, troops of the 1 Division deployed on Operation Sharan Daji raided the hideout of livestock rustlers and armed bandits operating within the Barikin Daji forest.
Army spokesman, Col S K Usman in a statement said that the military operation at the forest near Masafa village in Talata Marafa local government area of the state left at least 4 bandits dead.

The troops also recovered a motorcycle and destroyed all the camps at the forest.
Usman stated further that troops from the same division carried out a similar raid on a kidnappers’ hideout in Anchau forest located within Kubau local government area of Kaduna state on Wednesday.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with local vigilante in the area.
During the operation, 3 kidnappers, Umaru Buje, Sanusi Shuaibu and Samaila Ibrahim were arrested by the troops.
The arrested persons are currently being interrogated, according to the army spokesman.
