In a brief who is Russell

Russell is a gospel artiste who does his music as a ministry to win lost souls back to Christ.

Contributor: When did you launch a career in the ministry of music

Way back in 2012.

Why choose music as a career ?

I don't do music as a career but as a ministry to win souls back to Christ.

What is the core idea behind your stage name?

It is an inspiration from my mentor and  also similar to my task as a disciple.

What challenges do you experience as well as the other artistes.

Finding platforms as an upcoming artist is hard not just ordinary platforms but ones which can push your music ,finance is also another major problem  because recording at big studios is expensive compared to small ones yet they do the best music production So many artistes prefer the small ones yet they are never convenient.

What's the reason behind your genres.

I don't do music as a career but as a ministry of winning souls back to Christ I always want masses to listen to me that's why I do 3 genres to cut a cross the type of music people would want to listen to.

What's your view about Kenyan  music industry.

The Kenyan music industry is full and that means competition is stiff as well, so every artiste should always compose something which has a strong message to depict especially in the  gospel industry.

What would you change when given an opportunity.

I would turn the perception on our music so that it gets airplay from Dj's ,radio station and other relevant platform that will help artist grow.

Which artistes do you look up to

I've always wanted a collaboration with Kevoh Yout, Recapp and Bern ...they are one of the few artistes I look up to.

What should your fans expect from you in the nearest future.

I am currently working on a new track with someone called Nishike Mkono and will be out by end next week

Whats your pieces of advice to the emerging crop of artist in the industry

They should always be hardworking and believe in their selves.
