This was made known by the Federal Inland Revenue Service
Boss “Mr Tunde Fowler”.
He told the “House Committee on Public Petition” that
the organization had received over 700,000 job application for an opening of
500 available positions. According to him, of the 700,000, more than 2000 are
first class holders.
Fowler made the reports appearing before the Committee
following a petition by some applicants who claimed they were left out in the
application process.
The FIRS Boss also added that the Federal Government is
working on increasing manpower for tax collection and expand the country`s
revenue base.
He assured that the organization would ensure fairness in
the recruitment.
