The Federal Government of Nigeria through an official statement by the current Minister of Education (State) on November 2nd , 2016 (Wednesday), Professor Anthony Anwuka has announced the approval of the following private universities in Nigeria:
1. Anchor University, Lagos, owned by Deeper Christian Life Ministry
2. Arthur Jarvis University, Cross River by the Clitter House Nigeria Limited.
3. Clifford University, Abia, owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
4. Coal City University run, Enugu by African Thinkers Community of Inquiry College of Education, Enugu.
5. Crown-Hill University, Kwara, by Modern Morgy and Sons Limited.
6. Dominican University, Ibadan, the Brainchild Order of Preachers by Nigerian Dominican Community.
7. Kola Daisi University, Ibadan, by Kola Daisi Foundation.
8. Legacy University, Okija by The Good Idea Education Foundation.
