Governor Rochas Okorocha : Nobody can bully Oyegun out of APC

The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has been in the news lately for his efforts at mending the cracked fences in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okorocha also said that President Buhari will meet with stakeholders in the party to address various issues.

He revealed that the party has not managed the 2016 election victory very well, adding that there is still hunger in the land.
Okorocha also said that nobody can bully the APC Chairman, John Oyegun out of the party.
You will recall that Oyegun and the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu were at loggerheads following the outcome of the APC governorship primaries in Ondo state.
Also, Timi Frank, the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary has been on Oyegun’s neck, describing him as incompetent.
Speaking on the issues in the party, Okorocha said the APC will be restructured to make it better and stronger.
He also said “You may recall that it was the same NWC that saw us through the elections. If these people were good enough to see us through, they should be honoured. And I want to assure them that no one would bully them out or hush them out but there is need to make amendments where possible which is natural with any human organisation.
“So, the party will be restructured for the purpose of making it stronger and to move forward as a people and as a party.
“We have noticed that there is so much bitterness among the members and ranks of our party. There is need for communication and dialogue because where there is no deliberation and dialogue, war is inevitable.
“Again, very important, I came to commend the members of the NWC for their understanding, patience and sacrifices they made during the period of election.”
The Imo Governor also revealed that President Buhari will be meeting with stakeholders in the party to address various issues that have arisen.
Okorocha said “Mr President and commander in chief who is the leader of the party would be addressing the party leadership very soon in a couple of weeks to come or before the next two months.
“From there we would take it up, but our party is united and strong and we must take advantage of the moment especially with the visible crisis in the PDP, many good people in the PDP want to join APC but they are still watching because they have not seen us show that which we are known for before the election and there is no reason why we cannot manage this victory.”
The Governor also said some members of the party are not happy with what is happening presently.
