Michigan, the final state to confirm the presidential election result has declared President-elect Donald Trump the winner over former Secretary of States Hillary Clinton in its highly competitive election.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has said “Trump leads Clinton by 10,704 votes” after certification by the Michigan Board of State Canvassers.
This result gives Donald Trump 306 electoral votes, and Hilary Clinton 232 electoral votes.
All attention will now shift to the Electoral College which will converge on December 19, 2016 to cast its votes for the US president.
