NIGERIANS MOURN SELFLESS SOLDIER "COLONEL ABU ALI" - "IF SOMEONE MUST DIE, LET IT BE ME"
The Late Ali was described as a gallant soldier who commanded the respect of many soldiers. He was killed alongside 4 other soldiers when Boko Haram terrorists attacked a 119 Battalion Nigerian Army location at Mallam Fatori, Borno State. 14 Boko Haram terrorists were reportedly killed in the attack. He was the son of retired Brigadier-General Abu Ali.
According to a Nigerian Soldier, Ayo Adebayo, Ali was quoted to have said "If someone must die, let it be me" shortly before his death. As reported by many, he was such a selfless soldier. He led Nigerian troops to recover Baga from Boko Haram insurgents.
He was survived by a wife and several children.
