In preparation for the looming Ondo state governorship elections, Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris NPM mni, has appended his signature to the deployment of 26,000 conventional Police personnel.
In a statement published by the Police Public Relations Officer, Don N. Awunah, the 26,000 will consist five Policemen per polling unit, 2,000 Mobile Police Force (PMF), 10 cells of Counter Terrorism Unit, the Special Protection Unit, the Anti Bomb Squad (EOD), the Marine Police, Conventional Policemen, the Armament Units, personnel from FCIID and FIIB and the Sniffer dogs section together with Mounted Troops.
