President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed claims by some people that
the Federal Government is sponsoring the wedding
ceremony of his daughter, Zahra, taking place on Friday in Abuja.
The president’s Senior Special Assistant
on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, made the statement on his facebook page on behalf of the president.
Shehu added that all the wedding
expenses including the printing and distribution of invitation cards,
souvenirs, lunch event for the men and dinner for the women as well as
other miscellaneous expenses would be financed by the family and
personal aides.
He said Zahra
will be made happy but will not enjoy “royal wedding”.
