Sadiq Zazzabi has been arrested by the Kano State Censors Board for failing to get his song approved before releasing the song to the public.
The Kano-based musician, according to Premium Times Nigeria, would remain in detention until Friday when he'll be retained in court, as ordered by the chairman of the state censorship board.
"Yes he actually brought the song for censorship and before we can grant him a certificate of approval, he went ahead to launch the song."
‘For doing that he has faulted the censors board rule and we are charging him for that. '
Censoring a movie or song can take up to three weeks or more depending on the complexity of the song or film," the chairman added.
On the singer's part Zazzabi believes the arrest was politically motivated as he was loyal to former governor of the state Rabiu Kwankwaso, which the governor denied.
