A Series of earth tremors and loud sound waves rock Kaduna State

A series of earth tremors and loud sound waves has been reported in the southern part of Kaduna State, northwestern Nigeria on Sunday.
According to SaharaReporters, the strange phenomenon was observed in Kwoi, the headquarters of Jaba local government area in the State.
Although no official report has been released on the development, panicked residents have taken it upon themselves to alert the general public so that preventive measures can be put in place.
Joshua Byang, a local who spoke on the incident said the earth in the area shook six times starting at 10:32 a.m. on Sunday.
A bit of anxiety has gripped the town as at the time of filing this report, with further concerns that the Nok village which houses several artifacts associated with the famous Nok civilization could be destroyed.
Earlier this year, the Nigeria Geographical Information Services (NGIS) had warned of possible earthquakes in the country, particularly in the southwestern region owing to the rampant drilling of boreholes.
Prior to 2005, Nigeria was ruled outside the seismic region and declared safe from earthquakes. However, it’s been gathered from the Centre of Geodesy and Dynamic (CCG), that certain parts of the country, particularly the South West, were susceptible to quakes
