HOUSE OF REP PUTS PETROL AT #70, DIRECTS MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM ON PRICE REVIEW

On Tuesday, a member of the Housse Mr. Abubakar Hassan-Fulata, brought to the attention of the House the high price of petrol. The House eventually concluded that 90 per cent of the present cost of petrol (N124.34k) was so for "not so important" reason,e.g transport charges.
According to Hassan-Fulata, a number of the charges were from little expenses like, N4.56k; bridging fund, N6.20k; freight, N109.01k; NPA charges, N0.84k; and transport allowance, N3.36k.
The motion for the review of the pump price with a bar of #70 was received and appreciated by House members at Tuesday’s plenary, which was presided over by Speaker Yakubu Dogara.
The House directed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to ensure that the price review was done within eight weeks.
