Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly have called on the Federal Government to declare the state an oil producing state and accord all attending priviledges to the state.
According to them, the declaration should be made because oil has been discovered in Echeno and Udeke, in Ibaji Local Government Area, Kogi State.
The State House of Assembly claimed they have been receiving offers, stating an example of "Orient Petroleum Resources Limited" which was said to have made three offers to the State Government.
