INDEGENES, HAUSA/FULANI CLASH IN UYO


Three people have reportedly died following a deadly clash between Hausa/Fulani men and some local residents of Itiam Etoi in Uyo Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom state.

It was alleged that a member of the Hausa/Fulani Community was carrying a generator on wheelbarrow as some area boys asked him for money, he was said to have refused to pay, consequently attacked and this resulted in a reprisal.

According to a Vanguard news report, a witness by the name Ubong said he was attackes by the Hausa/Fulani but his life was saved by people nearby.
He said: “They wanted to kill me, but God saved my life as some youths, who were drinking nearby, came to my rescue. I thank God that I am still alive.”
