ONGOING PROTESTS IN INDIA OVER BAN OF HIGH CURRENCY NOTES


In India thousands of people have embarked on a nationwide demonstration on Monday against the ban on high-value banknotes. The opposition party has raised an alarm against it calling it “financial emergency”.

India`s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s shockingly decided to eliminate 86 percent of the currency from circulation overnight, this has caused a financial strain on so many.

According to  reports, 25,000 people protested at the eastern city of Kolkata, capital of West Bengal state.

It has been said “riots and epidemics” could if the ban continues.

According to police report 6,000 more turned out to protest in Mumba.
