Transmission Company to build three power transmission sub-stations in Kaduna State.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced plans to build three power transmission sub-stations in Kaduna State.
The building of the sub-stations will be completed in 18 to 24 months, according to the General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, Mrs. Seun Olagunju.
Olagunju told journalists shortly after the company’s management team undertook a tour of the proposed sites for the projects in Kaduna on Thursday that the projects were parts of the TCN’s expansion to enable it meet target.
She said, “We already have expansion plan and this is part of our expansion plan. We need to be above the curve.
“The Managing Director of TCN has been visiting some of the state governors, because we have had issues of land in some states; we have had issues of encroachment and vandalism; while in some cases, people come claiming ownership of the land; sometimes we end up in court with legal issues; that is why we have been visiting some of the governors to say please help us solve this one, so that our own is to put the sub-stations in place.”
According to her, the transmission projects will commence this year, as the Kaduna State Government has given an assurance that the issue of compensation to land owners is ongoing and will soon be concluded.
Olagunju said the survey for the transmission lines had been done, adding that it was just for the titles to be issued and “we will commence; and soon, we are going to advertise for these projects and hit the ground running.”
The General Manager, Kaduna Transmission Centre, Alhaji Abdullahi Suleiman, said the Kaduna State Government had given the TCN 750 square metres of land behind the Millennium City, and 350 square metres each in Rigasa and Kakau for the projects.
